OUR STORY
I am the daughter of Estella Eaton, a single mother of five. I watched my mother work so hard to provide for us, but with an income of around $15K, it was hard to provide everything we needed. My heart for service was sparked when I was around 12 years old. My mother took us to a church that gave us food and clothing.
There was a little old lady there that always prayed for us and talked to us. She would encourage my mom to keep going and she would walk us through the warehouse to find nice secondhand clothing for the school year. The times we had to go there, we looked for her because she was so comforting.
She took away the shame from my mother and took the time to empathize with her struggle.
The last time we went to the church, the little old lady gave my mom a flyer about a program that would train her to be a Certified Nursing Assistant.
My mom went to the program, graduated, and found a love to care for the elderly. Her income went from $15k to $30K within the first year.

My mother always worked and exemplified a great work ethic to us, but the commitment of the church and that little old lady changed everything for us.
I always promised myself that one day, I would give back to single mothers. Therefore, I founded Mom’s Firewall. The name comes from a mother’s ability to build a firewall of prayer around their children no matter the situation. It also speaks to how women can surround each other in community, mentorship, and hope to give ourselves and our children a better tomorrow.
